What is a difference between Schooling and Education

My father used to say Schooling and education are two distinctively different things. Schooling is your academics - begins at home and continues through college and beyond. Whereas, education is your life. It includes your experiences, test and trials, failures and successes. And as long as you are alive always be in school and keep educating yourself.
